Trinity United Church of Christ

The Rev. David W. Grant, D.D., has been our Pastor for fifteen years. He is a native of Ashland, PA, where he was Baptized and Confirmed at Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ. He was received as a Student-In-Care by the former Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1957. Since Ordination in 1968, he has been both a parish pastor as well as a hospital chaplain. Prior to being called to Trinity, he was Pastor of the Hegins Valley Charge at the other end of Schuylkill County. Pastor and his wife, Susan, a retired Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, reside next to the church at 44 Lafayette St.

Our Pastor has served on the Board of Managers of Bethany Children’s Home as well as on the former Board for World Ministries of the denomination.  He currently chairs the Schuylkill Association Committee on Ministry and in 2008 was presented with the Schuylkill Association’s Outstanding Leader Award. He has been a delegate to two General Synods of the UCC.

His sermons are based on the lectionary texts chosen for the day and are always relevant and easy to understand.  A parishioner said, “you always take something home to think about.”  A children’s sermon, “Words for Young Christians” is one of the highlights of our Sunday worship experience.
