SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL

Sunday Church School is held weekly for all ages (3yrs - ?) September through the beginning of June and begins at 8:45 AM.  Our Church School is blessed with a great teaching staff along with sufficient helpers.  The Adult Bible Class meets in the Chapel and discusses topics both biblical as well as current issues.  Across the hallway from the Chapel is found our Nursery where children begin their study at age 3 of the great truths of scripture through story and song. The first floor of our educational wing houses the Beginners, Primary, Junior, and Intermediate Departments.  The Intermediate Department is the primary site of our Confirmation Class.  They also meet on Thursday afternoons at 4:00 with the Pastor. It is interesting to note that in the 2008-09 Church School year nearly 50% of our Church School, including Staff, had a record of perfect attendance.

VBS - 2010

Our 2010 Vacation Bible School was held July 26 – July 30 and had a daily attendance of nearly 70.  Ali Morrison was the Director, Samantha Yachera was the Song Leader, and Amy Mateyak was Kitchen Coordinator. The Theme was “SonQuest Rain Forest.”  Enjoy the photographs! We thank all who assisted in any way.

CONFIRMATION CLASS

Each September a Confirmation Class is organized with members being at least 12 years of age.  This Class, which is taught by the Pastor and a Lay Teacher (Mrs. Betty Dolinsky), meets twice a week as mentioned in the Church School Article.  The object of Confirmation is to instruct young people prior to their decision to become a member of the congregation. This historic practice has its roots in the Reformed heritage of Trinity Church.  Subjects studied include an introduction to the Bible, Church History, and the history of Trinity Church, the Worship Service and its significance, as well as other topics. Memorization of the Lord’s Prayer, the 23rd Psalm, the Apostles’ Creed and portions of the Heidelberg Catechism are also a part of the curriculum.
